Terms of Service
Effective date: April 1, 2026 · Last updated: April 1, 2026
Welcome to PainLog. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PainLog application and website operated by Result Horizon LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using PainLog, you agree to these Terms.
PainLog is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It is a personal tracking tool designed to help you record symptoms for your own reference and to share with your healthcare provider. Always seek professional medical advice for health concerns. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use PainLog. By using the service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised
- Not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use PainLog only for its intended purpose — personal health symptom tracking. You may not:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the application
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
- Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the security of the platform
4. Your data
You own your data. The pain log entries, notes, and health information you create in PainLog belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the PainLog service to you. This license terminates when you delete your data or account.
For details on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.
5. The service
PainLog is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We strive to maintain high availability and reliability, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.
6. AI features
PainLog includes an optional AI-powered backfill feature that uses artificial intelligence to extract structured data from your notes. This feature is provided as a convenience and may not always produce accurate results. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated entries before saving them.
7. Not medical advice
PainLog is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional medical care. The information presented in PainLog — including pain levels, symptoms, and timing data — is based solely on what you enter and is not reviewed, validated, or interpreted by medical professionals.
Do not rely on PainLog for medical decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Result Horizon LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of PainLog, including but not limited to:
- Decisions made based on data recorded in PainLog
- Loss of data due to service interruptions or technical failures
- Unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to secure credentials
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated content
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of PainLog shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Result Horizon LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the service.
10. Termination
You may stop using PainLog and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a security risk to the platform or other users.
Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. You may export your data before terminating your account.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of PainLog shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Contra Costa County, California.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of PainLog after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
